LPG Transparency Portal


Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has launched the LPG Transparency Portal under Government to Citizen (G2C) service category.Click on the above link or paste the following url in your browser:-

As per National Portal of India,

LPG consumers can know their individual pattern of LPG usage, LPG booking status, LPG refill history or request for surrender of their connection, highest consumption consumers, subsidy availed etc. The information on the portal can also be sorted by consumer number, consumer name and by distributors’ name.

Actually, this portal links to three different LPG Transparency Portals belonging to different Oil and Gas Marketing Companies. The url for each of them are:-

2. Bharat Gas – http://www.ebharatgas.com/ebgas/CC_include/Transparency_portal_new.jsp
3. HP Gas – http://dcmstransparency.hpcl.co.in/TransparencyPortal/Transparency/Transparency.aspx

Using these portals, you can do various tasks like:-

  • Rate your distributor
  • Register complaints
  • Find top users in an area
  • Surrender a connection
  • Find your pattern of consumption, details of refill supplies, etc.
  • Find out the amount of subsidy that you have utilized by using the subsidized LPG

This is a nice initiative. This portal will empower and benefit the consumers. Hope it evolves with time and is made more user-friendly.

Where to file Grievance against Public Grievance Portal?


After trying for more than two hours, I have lost the patience and I feel exhausted. Somehow I have gathered energy to write this post.

Before we begin, ere are two screenshots of the Lodge a Grievance Page.

I tried to lodge a grievance against Ministry of Railways but I was not able to submit it. Why? Check this screenshot:-

I got two errors:-

  • Description should be less than 4000 characters
  • Special Characters are not allowed in Subject description

Those among you who are in IT will say that I must have used special characters and the characters used would be more than 4000. I checked all this, the message that I was trying to post here didn’t had any special characters. Moreover, just check the screen shots, and let me know where can I find Subject description?

I have masked the content as I do not want to publish for the sake of anonymity. You can clearly see the following message above the Description text area:-

*Please enter Grievance Description upto 3634 characters

Compare this with the second image above. It clearly means that there are 3634 characters left. For special characters, I would like you to take my word. There are no special characters. I have even removed any full stop, commas, etc or for that matter I have not even included any number.

Now, tell me what should I do? Where shall I file a grievance against the Public Grievance Portal?

Smarter Planet – Idea and the Involvement – Time to say THANK YOU!


When I joined IBM on 3rd July 2009, the first thing I noticed was the poster of Smarter Planet at the gallery leading to my induction room. Later during induction, we were shown the video advertising Smarter Planet concept and how it has become the buzzword here in IBM. However, when I reached the floor where I work, was surprised that very few people talk about it and very few even doing something about it. I was astonished how people can be mute to such a special and important initiative, a dream if realized would change the earth and the way we live on it.
